Pencils & Links

8th Mar, 2010 Dug out my graphite pencils recently, so have been doing some pencil work. Course, that was about a month ago, since I'm a slacker and haven't updated this in that long...

clicking on the images above will take you to the gallery that they are found in...

LINKS! Here there be lotsa goodies. It's simply a page that lists a lot of other peoples' sites; most of which are galleries. The links page has been around for a while, but I've been periodically adding to it. Recently it's gotten a whole new section: Web Comics. So if you're into comics, check them out. You can find the links page through the "some cool links >" link over on the right there.

On another note, I took down anything strictly relating to my deviantART gallery, ie: dev-ID's, comic tournament artwork, etc, etc. I did this for various reasons, but mostly to keep this site clean and mostly simple-ish, in an effort to use this more as a portfolio than a dump-all gallery. If you're missing those particular pieces of art, or just want to see them (if you haven't) you can find them in my deviant galleries.

Digital Portraits

10th Jan, 2010 New images that showcase something of a personal breakthrough in my digital art... I finally feel comfortable with the medium, and enjoy the look-style and the construction process that I've developed. Over the last few months I've felt like I can let loose a little with digital works, something that I've only really felt comfortable doing in pencils before. so hoozah! Artistic breakthroughs are totally awesome!

Schooners illustrations

22nd Dec, 2009 a series of illustrations following a story given to me from an Eng110 student. it was part of a larger independant study course for illustration students. I designed the drawings to appeal more to a younger audience, so thats why they've been put in my kids gallery.

A Whatness -- What?

04th Dec, 2009 Where the site name comes from:

QUID·DI·TY n
1. the essence of a thing or person, the whatever-it-is that makes a thing or perseon what he/she/it is. (quidditas - quiddity; literally, "whatness"). the whatness essence.
2. "quibble," a nit-picking subtlety or nicety in argument. an unimportant or trifling distinction.
-- Norman W. Schur

Welcome to whatnessart.com - the gallery and home of Pamela Renee, in which I try to find the essence of my own artwork, that which makes it whatever-it-is; its whatness essence.

This site is still under construction, and the galleries are being updated bit by bit. Please have patience with me as I build up the content here.
"All poets adore explosions, thunderstorms, tornadoes, conflagrations, ruins, scenes of spectacular carnage. The poetic imagination is therefore not at all a desirable quality in a chief of state."
